Turbo return has -0- on line 6b but $53,799 on line 6a. Other income $12,787 imterest+ $20,000 in 401k withdrawal for a total income of $32,787(-) $32,300 for standard deduction and taxable of $487.00. IRS sent notice today for error in calculation of total income which should have been $52,120 and not the $32,787 on line 9 reported and a notice for the line 6b being -0- and a bill for $1,983. Both filers are over 65 old..Is line 6b accurate?

It may not be correct.  When you enter your Social Security benefits, you should see a question asking whether either you or your spouse are living in a certain foreign country that would exclude Social Security income from taxation due to a tax treaty.  If this question was answered incorrectly, then your Social Security income may not have been taxed as it should have been.
