It will not allow us to file because we have to fix the entry for Form 1099-NEC. There was not a 1099-NEC generated in 2020 only in 2019. How do we get past this?

1099-NEC was re-introduced for 2020, it wasn't used in 2019.

You might try deleting the form that is giving you trouble.

Sign in to your online account

Continue working on your return

Click Tax Tools on the left side bar

Click Tools on the drop-down

Click "Delete a form" on the “Tools Center” screen

Scroll down the list and find what you think is causing the error, did you have a 1099-MISC last year and not for 2020? then click Delete

Confirm the delete

Please make sure you are not deleting something you need to have entered.
