Maryland Retired Military Duduction not visible with entering a 1099-R

I had this problem but found it was because of the importing of data from the previous tax year.  To fix the problem I just deleted the Military 1099-R that was imported from last year and created a new one using the exact information printed on this years 1099-R.  After that, the Maryland state of residence appeared and the very last question while imputting the data.  It is important to use the exact information.  I suspect if you do not use the exact information TuboTax treats it like an IRA not retirement pay.
