Question

My 1099-R forms for both of my pensions are blank on line 9a. I cannot proceed any further because they are "in pink" saying there must be a value in that box.

Called issuers of 1099-R's and they do not put anything in box 9a. Ever.

Please clarify what the distribution codes (box 7) are on your 1099-Rs.

Code 7 is a normal distribution.

In cases such as this it would be best to delete the Form 1099-R and then re-enter the form manually to clear the program error for box 9a.
