Question

My 2022 taxable income was $30,642.33. My AGI does not exceed $200,000. I am only getting $63 for the Other Dependent Tax Credit. It is supposed to be $500.

Are you looking at your 1040 line 19 for that amount?

That credit is non-refundable meaning if it zero's out your tax liability, you don't get the excess.

So it can lower your tax up to 500, but if your tax is eliminated using less, the remaining amount of the credit is gone.

If you only needed 63 to eliminate your tax liability, that is all the credit will be worth to you.
