My husband and I have a band. I received checks in my name. Do I need to create a 1099 for my husband?

My husband and I have a band. We only played 6 shows last year, totaling $5200. I received checks in my name. Do I need to create a 1099 for my husband?

    If you file jointly it will make no difference.

    If you file a small business Schedule C it would go to the business.
