The "Health Insurance Premium Deduction" on your 1099-R shows the amount of premiums deducted from your pension. If you paid these premiums with after-tax dollars, you can include them as a medical expense on your Schedule A if you itemize your deductions. This is applicable if, when combined with your other medical expenses, the total exceeds 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).
