Just wait until Friday, or Saturday....then edit the 1099-R form(s) that are presenting a problem, and re-answer any follow-up questions. (No promises though).

What happened? Well, for this year they completely rewrote the follow-up questions concerning 1099-R forms and RMD amounts, to supposedly fix some minor issues in the follow-up questions. But the rewrite adjustments just made many things worse...so, sometime in late Feb, they supposedly fixed them, and screwed up part of the Q&A again.

Maybe rigorous testing with actual users before the start of the season was skipped???
