Go back and edit every 1099-R you have entered.

You may have accidentally entered your distribution...or your taxable amount of distribution (box 2a) in the wrong field.

    _______________

This can also happen if you uploaded a PDF or picture of your 1099-R form.  Unfortunately, the "AI" that "attempts" to interpret the PDF or picture, that can scramble some of the data.  I personally never upload a picture or PDF of a tax form.

You might have to delete the 1099-R s that you entered, and re-enter them manually.

Yes, you can see where the $$ came from if you save a PDF copy of your current tax file, then look for the Federal "Tax Payments Worksheet".  That form shows the sources of any withholding that was "supposedly" entered by yourself in some way.

On your tax return (Form 1040) Line 25 a, b, c will show your withholdings, and 26 will show Estimated Tax payments.

    From the left sidebar

    1. Select Tax tools
    2. Hint: You may have to minimize the Federal and State selections
    3. Click Tools
    4. A Menu will pop up
    5. Select View tax summary
    6. On the left panel click Preview my 1040
    7. Withholdings are on Lines 25 and 26

    Some Other Key numbers:

    • 11 Adjusted Gross Income
    • 12 Deductions
    • 15 Taxable income
    • 16 Tax
    • 33Total Payments including credits
    • 34 Refund
    • 37 Amount you owe
