On box 15 it says put in my residential state and Texas wasn’t in the box for choose my state

Since TX doesn't have an income tax, there is no TX state withholding.

 

As such, you should leave the line with boxes 15, 16, 17 empty on a W-2 for any TX entries....If your form has other states listed, you can enter those that assess an income tax and any withholding noted. .........Some people do work in multiple states for an employer.
