Question

On form 1099-R, I am supposed to have a minimum value of 0.01 in box 9a but my form has nothing in this box. How should I fill this out?

@jdmartinez52

There's not enough info for people to know what your 1099-R is for, such as what type of distribution, distribution code, whether it was a total distribution, etc.  Box 9a of a 1099-R is used when there is a total distribution that went to more than one person and would show your percentage of the total that went to you.

I'm not a tax person, so I've requested that @ dmertz , who has an interest in retirement income, to assist you when they are next in the forum, probably during the day.   It's also possible someone else might respond when you provide the additional info.     NOTE:  Remember this is a public Internet forum, so don't post any personal info in the forum.

If the Form 1099-R provided by the payer has a blank box 9a (or has a zero in box 9a), leave box 9a blank on TurboTax's 1099-R form.
