Question

On State Tax Return in "Income Adjustment" section they have "Tuition and Fees." We entered form 1099-T on our Federal Form, but Turbo Tax did not carry over any entry.

Do we enter paid tuition again on our State Tax Return?

No, education expenses are not entered a second time.

To clarify, may you please tell us which state you are working on?

There was a "Tuition and Fees" deduction in the past, but that was repealed for tax year 2021. It's possible the State form was referring to that deduction since tax policies have been changed last minute by the IRS before. The state form MAY have been prepared to address that deduction in case that provision was extend. The Tuition and Fees deduction, however was NOT extended for tax year 2021.
