Question

On the 888-9T form, box 9 "Employer Contributions made to your HSAs for 2023" is showing the amount my employer and I contributed during the year. How do I fix this?

Line 9 is used to show both, employer and employee contributions made through payroll.

According to the IRS:

“Employer contributions (including employee payroll contributions through a cafeteria plan) include any amount an employer contributes to any HSA for you for 2023. Also, include contributions made by a health insurance plan on an employer's behalf. These contributions should be shown in box 12 of Form W-2 with code W. “
