Pension tax

I have a pension from the California State Teacher's Retirement System but I live full-time in Louisiana. Do I need to pay Louisiana state tax on my pension? If so, how to I do that since I am not required to file a state tax form for California? According to California I do not have "taxable income", not only because I live out of state but also because my income did not meet the threshold amount to be taxable (under 17,000 for a single filer)

Thanks

Renee

If you live in LA you pay state tax to LA.    The fact that your pension is coming from CA does not change that you are subject to LA tax laws.  Enter all of your income into the federal return.  Information flows to the state return.  The software will follow the tax laws of LA pertaining to taxability of your pension.
