Question

Previous years TurboTax selecting "all of this distribution was an RMD" was sufficient for a government pension. With 2024 return, TurboTax now wants actual RMD amount.

why is this a requirement for the 2024 return?

    Yeah, they messed up those questions for 2024 in the software.

     

    When it asks for what the RMD amount was supposed to be, just indicate the same amount was the RMD...but don't enter the cents, just enter the flat $$ amount before the cents mark (truncate the cents....don't round up if 50cents or higher)

     

    That probably works until they get the questions re-figured to be less confusing. 

    It's been a real mess for folks with multiple IRA accounts.

    And they are working on a fix...not sure what will happen, and whether it might take another week or two more to fix:
