Roth retirement contributions are payroll after tax contributions to your retirement plan that would not be taxed upon withdrawal.  Unless you made Roth 401K after-tax contributions to your Maryland State Retirement plan, you can answer No to any Roth questions.

For the Maryland return:  Only pension income can be deducted; money from IRA, Roth IRA, Simplified Employee Plans and Keogh plans must be reported on your state income tax.

If you did not make a Roth 401K election for a Maryland supplemental retirement plan, your state pension from Maryland would be exempt from Maryland tax.
