Please double-check the form on which your income is reported.  Most retirement income is entered on Form 1099-R.  If this is the case, delete the W-2 entry and return to Wages & Income and select the option "Retirement Plans and Social Security" and enter your income in the area for "IRA, 401(k)" (or other appropriate form if you see your form listed here).

If you have a W-2 (such as for certain nonqualified deferred compensation plans) you should ignore the error about requesting a corrected W-2 and proceed with filing the return.  If you encounter troubles when you're ready to transmit the return let us know exactly what error message you are seeing and we'll help you resolve it.

You mentioned "Federal civil service."  If you have a 1099-R, when you go through the retirement income section, TurboTax interview should also ask you what "type" of 1099-R you have so that it guides you to the proper entry.    Is it an ordinary standard 1099-R, or is it one of the following:

CSA-1099-R

CSF-1099-R
RRB-1099-R
