RMD due by Dec 31, 2024

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but the wording is not clear to me.

"RMD due by Dec 31, 2024"

Does this mean the RMD for that month, or the total RMD received for the entire year?  I'm guessing for the entire year but I don't know for sure.

Thanks in advance!

Yes for the whole year.  You have to take out all your 2024 RMD by Dec 31, 2024 unless this is your first year RMD.  Then you have until April 1, 2025 to take the 2024 RMD.

    Great - thanks!

So then,  if I received monthly RMDs all year, I would then select "some of this distribution applied to the Dec 31 rmd" and then enter what I received in December under "amount applicable to Dec 31 rmd"?

TurboTax just changed the questions recently after many complaints.

You'll have to try it and see how it goes. Did you just turn 73 in 2024 ?
