Question about RMD:

My wife turned 70 1/2 the end of 2017. She has traditional IRAs in several banks. Can she just cash her IRA (more than the RMD required for all her IRA banks combined ) from one bank only for this year or she has to start to cash IRA from all her IRA banks this year? Thanks !

Yes. She can. The sum of the separate IRA RMD amounts can then be satisfied from the your IRA accounts in any combination. The IRS considers your traditional IRA's to be one big pool of IRA money and the your obligation is to take your RMD from the "pool", not from each account making up the pool.
