report my own retirement, was not inherited from deceased spouse

    In the Income section, where you enter your 1099-R, TurboTax asks if this account was 'Inherited'.  You may have accidently indicated that it was.  Go through your entries in this section again to review. 

     

    Also, on the first entry page for 1099-R, be sure you indicated that the 1099-R belongs to you, if you're filing a Married Filing Jointly return with your deceased spouse. 

     

    So sorry for your loss.
