Is this for an IRA?  If you made IRA contributions, those should be entered into TurboTax to determine if any amounts are deductible contributions.  If you are talking about retirement plan contributions through your employer, you do not need to report them in TurboTax as your box 1 wage amount is already adjusted for your contributions.

To enter your IRA contributions into TurboTax, after you have logged in and are in your return:

  • Go to Search at the top of the screen.
  • Enter IRA Contribution Information in the search box.
  • You will see a Jump To function that will take you to the IRA Contribution input screens.
  • There follow the screens to enter your 2020 contributions to your IRA.
