Should I respond as myself when I start our taxes (I'm the wife) or as my husband as taxpayer?

As I am using Turbotax for the first time, will it ask who is the taxpayer and who is the spouse?

The software does not know who is sitting at the keyboard. It will use the word "you" for the person who is listed first on the tax return. If you list yourself first, then it will address you as "you." If you have filed any past tax returns as joint returns it is best to keep the order of the names consistent from year to year. If this is your first ever joint return, then list either one of you first, but keep it that way for future tax returns.
