Should we document our 401k contributions as a traditional IRA or don't they need to be included in our return?

Is there a difference between a Traditional IRA and 401k?

Your 401(k) contribution are only entered on one place and this on your W-2 in box 12 with a code of D.  They are not entered anywhere else on a tax return.

And a 401(k) is Not an IRA.
