You tell the software you do not have any W-2's.

To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.

If you received Social Security:

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA109

It is correct that you did not receive form W-2 as this form reports wages, withholdings and SS taxes for employees. As you did not work in 2024, there is no form W-2.

Form 1099-R is to report distributions from your retirement accounts and pensions.

You can enter your form 1099-R by following the instructions in this TurboTax Help article.
