Question

So when I entered my stimulus check amounts , my refund went down by half. Why is that? I thought they were none taxable.

The stimulus payments are not taxable. Probably what happened was that your refund was including all of the stimulus money that you were entitled to, but when you entered what you had received, that amount was subtracted from the amount you were entitled to, so your refund want down.

For instance, and individual is entitled to $1,800 of stimulus payments, which is included in his refund before he completes his tax return in TurboTax. Then, he enters the $1,800 that he already received, so the refund is reduced by that amount.
