Social Security I received was split 3 ways: to me, to medicare and to child support. How is this taxed?

You have to report your gross social security benefits on your tax return. 

 

Social security benefits can be partially taxed, depending on your total income.

 

Please read this TurboTax Help topic for more information.

 

Amounts deducted from your SS benefits for Medicare are deductible as Medical expenses (if you itemize your deductions).

 

Child support that you pay is not tax deductible.
