Question

State ID tax number not shown on 1099-R for Fed Civil Service and Military Retirement. Do I need for this income? Not taxed by Alabama.

No state tax withheld as this retirement income is not taxed by Alabama. Where do I get the state tax ID number?

You should not need the state ID number, especially if no state taxes were being withheld.  However, if you are being asked to enter the state ID number to clear an error condition, try using the Federal ID number in that entry or be sure that all of the state-related boxes are blank.
