Question

The form asks for state distribution; is this the gross or taxable amount?

The form is asking for the state distribution amount. What do I use?

    If you are referring to the state distribution in box 16 of Form 1099-R, use the amount in box 1 in box 16.  This should clear up any error condition you are seeing.

    If there is nothing in box 16, make sure box 15 is blank in TurboTax.
