The turbotax federal review is requiring me to fill in info for a 1099 NEC but I did not earn any nonemployee compensation this year...how do I delete it?

If you had a Schedule C business in your return last year, you'll need to properly "dispose" of that business for the IRS.  See the FAQ I'm linking below to delete that business.

How do I delete a prior-year Schedule C business that transferred over?

If you didn't earned any non-employee compensation, then delete the form(s).

  1. Log into Turbo Tax
  2. Go to federal>wages and income>self-employment>Self-employment income and expenses>start or revisit
  3. Next screen you should see Your 2020 self-employed work summary. Delete the entry that doesn't belong
  4. To make sure everything is gone, go to tax tools>tools>delete a form
  5. Delete all forms that have 1099-NEC, Schedule C, and anything relating Schedule income, including SE tax forms..
