Question

There is no RMD for a military retirement account, why does this program keep asking for RMD info?

    No. Military retirement is subject to RMD such as all retirement accounts. In fact it mentions here that "Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you reach age 73".  It doesn't exclude military pay.

    When asked for the amount of the RMD you enter the total pension income received as shown in box 1 of the Form 1099-R.
