Trying to file for free. Get a $50.00 Retirement credit. But now must "upgrade" which costs $59,Fed:$49,State

If you want to skip getting the saver credit you can say in My Info that you were a student---that will disqualify you for the credit and you will not have to upgrade to Deluxe.

 

Or you could use some different software and still file for free and get the credit.

 

-Use this IRS site for other ways to file for free.  There are 8  free software versions available from the IRS Free File site
