Trying to file my returns and Turbo Tax is saying I need to enter NY State Tax withheld from Form 1099-R Box 14a. I never received a 1099-R from my broker. Help?

If you did not receive a 1099-R, there should not be one in your program. Please go back to the income section and see if you have one. If you do, look at the state boxes. I believe you may have imported a 1099-R from your broker with state income and a state id but no state tax withheld. You can delete all the state information in that case. You could also try entering zero for the tax withheld but that only works sometimes.

You could have a 1099-R if you rolled over money or took distributions from a retirement account.
