Question

Turbotax is asking for information from box 16A on my form 1099-R. My form stops at box 15. Where do I get the information that turbotax is requesting?

Turbotax wants to know what my state distribution is compared to my state tax withheld. Tax withheld is box 14 (form 1099-R) turbotax says that state distribution is box 16. However, my form 1099-R does not have a box 16. What do I enter for turbotax?

    If box 14 has an amount and box 16 is blank or missing put in the amount from box 2a in box 16.  If 2a is blank then put in the amount from box 1.
