Was told by a rep that I could add in more income info

I am filing for both 2019 and 2020 at the same time and Turbotax is lumping all the income into 2020. How do I stop this? Phone rep said the program would know to separate the income into the appropriate years but that's not happening.

Unfortunately the phone rep that you spoke to didn't know what he or she was talking about (or you misunderstood what the rep was saying). You can't file two years together. You have to file a separate tax return for each year. And you cannot use TurboTax Online to file for 2019. TurboTax Online is only for the current tax year, which is now 2020. As you have observed, everything you have entered in TurboTax Online has gone into your 2020 tax return. You will have to remove all the 2019 information before you file it.

To file for 2019 you have to use the CD or download TurboTax software for 2019. You can purchase a download at the following link.

Past Years' Products

You might get a better price from a reputable online seller that still has TurboTax for 2019 in stock.

Tax returns for past years cannot be e-filed. You will have to print your 2019 tax return, sign it, and file it by mail.
