Question

We canceled our timeshares and got a 1099-A. Do we need to include these in our returns, and if so, where?

We used a timeshare cancellation company to legally get out of our timeshares. They were discharged and closed, not foreclosed on for non-payment.

Corrected post.

A 1099-A is for your information and not entered in a tax return.   Id you also received a 1099-C then that must be entered.
