You don't need to enter an EIN into TurboTax to report your social security income. What form are you trying to complete?

No - I entered the SSA in the right area but still asking for EIN for Social Security Administration. I'm just going to by-pass and submit. Hopefully it will be accepted

If you were in the correct section for entering a SSA-1099, then where did you enter the amount for box 5?

A SSA-1099 does not have an EIN on the form.  Therefore TurboTax would not have a SSA-1099 section asking for an EIN.

Use this procedure to enter a SSA-1099

To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button
