It depends why you received it,   Form 1099-S reports the sale or exchange of real estate.  If it was for the Sale of your main home, there is a separate section of TurboTax for that (look under Wages and Income- Less Common Income).

 

You may be able to exclude $250,000 ($500,000 on a joint return) on the sale of your home may not be taxable if it was your primary residence for two of the last five years.
