What percent is the RMD?

My 1099-R only says how much I withdrew from my 41...but doesn't say how much of my withdrawal was RMD. How can I find out?

    You can likely ask the plan administrator what your required minimum distribution (RMD) is and assign as much of that as you want to the distribution. For instance, if your RMD is $1,000 and your distribution was $2,000, you can say $1,000 of it was a RMD.

     

    You can also calculate your RMD by using the IRS RMD worksheets.
