I started substitute teaching in September and got a 1099 R. I can't figure out where this goes in my tax preparation. It doesn't fit into the Income section.

1099R is a very common form.

    Enter a 1099R under
    Federal Taxes
    Wages & Income
Then scroll way down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
Then IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) – Click Start

For state boxes, for box 16 State Distribution put the same amount that’s in box 1.  If box 14 is blank you can leave boxes 14,15 & 16 blank.

Don't type the bank name or try to import it.
At the bottom pick - Change How I enter my Form
Then on the next screen pick - I'll Type it in Myself

What form did you get for substitute teaching?  A W2 or a 1099NEC?
