Question

When asked about RMD withdrawals, do I include just the RMD for 2024 or include the one for 2023, which my dad mistakenly took in 2024?

Father forgot to take RMD for 2023 in 2023, and took it in March 2024, along with his 2024 RMD. When asked whether total amount is RMD, do I include only the 2024 RMD or both?

    Your father's 1099-R should include both amount's and that's what you enter.
