Question

When I try to efile my 1040 tax return, it wants me to enter a 1099 employer's number. I don't have a 1099. How do I delete this from my tax report.

    You can simply remove the form. Here are the steps:

    • Sign into your account, select Take me to my return
    • To your left, select Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow
    • Select Tools
    • Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form
    •  Scroll down the list to locate the 1099-misc, select Delete and Continue with My Return
