Question

When it asks about a Traditional IRA or a Roth IRA, is it talking about the one I contribute to through my employer?

I am unsure if this is a question about only an account outside of my employer or the one I know I am contributing to through them.

    No.  It is referring to an IRA or Roth IRA that would not be associated with an employer.

     

    If you have an employer tax deferred retirement plan your contributions to that plan are entered on on your W-2 in box 12.
