Question

When will this be resolved? We're working on some updates related to John's required minimum distribution, but you can still work on other parts of your tax return. ?

TurboTax tells me "We recommend waiting to file your taxes." But they provide no clue as to when the RMD updates will be finalized. Have been using TurboTax for years, do I need to switch to someone else?

There are many reasons you may have to delay filing.

Waiting for an update with corrections is one.

After many complaints, TurboTax realized they still have work to do.

The warning message was inserted to let you know they are working on it.

Hopefully, they will get it right.

After many years of using Turbotax, this is the first time the program has a problem with my "correct" RMD entered amounts! I don't trust them anymore. Are they going to tell us when this update is ready?????

A program update was released on 2/21/25 and the issue with multiple RMD's has been resolved.

Please review your 1099-R entries in TurboTax and complete all of the follow-up interview questions.  Once you are done updating your 1099-R entries, click Continue under your list of 1099-R's and answer those follow-up questions.  Once you have completed these steps, the extra tax should be removed
