Where do I enter 1099-R's from Military Retirement, and previous employers such as a state government?
All form 1099-Rs are entered in under the Income & Expenses tab. The code in box 7 of each 1099-R form will indicate what type of retirement income is being reported.
Follow the directions below to enter your 1099-R forms.
- Log in and click take me to my return (unless already in).
- Click the Federal tab from the left-side menu.
- On the next screen, scroll down to view all income.
- Scroll down and click show more next to Retirement Plans and Social Security.
- Click the Start tab next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R).
Alternatively, you can follow the directions below to enter your 1099-R forms.
- Log in and click take me to my return (unless already in).
- Click the Search box in the upper right screen, type 1099-R and select the Jump to link in the search results.
- Answer Yes on the Your 1099-R screen, then select Continue.
- If you land on the Your 1099-R Entries screen instead, select Add Another 1099-R.
- Select how you want to enter your 1099-R (import or type it in yourself) and then follow the instructions.
