In the deductions section for the self employed, there are only two choices of Traditional IRA and Roth IRA for entering contributions.  What about for 401k and SEP contributions? Where do you enter these contributions?

To enter your SEP IRA contributions,

  • Inside your Federal return, type "SEP accounts" (without quotes) in the search box
  • Choose the "Jump to sep accounts" link in the search results
  • This will take you to the Self-Employed Retirement Plans screen. Proceed through the screens to enter your info.

401k contributions are generally pulled from your W-2 using the code "D" in Box 12 of your W-2.
