Question

Which of two 1099-R from J Hancock do I file? One is an internal 401(k) to an IRA within J Hancock, other is for a roll over from the J Hancock IRA to my Fidelity IRA.

Yes, you will report both forms in your 1099-R section as separate entries. Record the information exactly the way it is listed on the forms.

  1. Go to federal>wages and income>all income
  2. Retirement plans and Social Security>show more
  3. Ira (401K), pension plan Withdrawals(1099R) Start
  4. Here you will enter your 1099R.  After you are done with one and reach a summary screen, there will be an opportunity to your second 1099R
