Why does the holding period box for the 1099-B Worksheet not accept either of the two answers offered? The app keeps returning to the same spot in the final review.

HELP. I am using my laptop already, and updated the TurboTax software today. TurboTax will not accept any input for the worksheet for holding period or date of acquisition. I type both, hit enter or continue and the field is blanked out. HELP.

Any asset you hold for one year or less at the time of sale is considered “short term” by the IRS. Capital assets that you hold for more than one year and then sell are classified as long-term on Schedule D and Form 8949.
