why is my 1099-r not showing as income

We can't see your screen. Make sure you have entered all the corresponding information regarding the 1099-R. Verify Box 2a-2b for taxable amounts. 

Also, what's the distribution code in box 7?

Where did you enter the 1099R?

 

To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.

 

Depending on what the 1099R was for (pension, IRA, 401K etc) you should see it on line 4a and 4b or 5a and 5b of your Form 1040.
