Question

Why is the program insisting 10b on 1040/1040SR be $0 when we are allowed to claim up to $300 when taking the standard deduction? And yes, I am sure I am taking the SD.

Line 10 will not change until the Deductions & Credits section has been totally completed and there are no more deductions to enter. TurboTax will then tell you that the Standard deduction is correct for you and the $300 CASH contribution has been applied to line 10.

Thank you, but I have gotten past the point where the program confirms the standard deduction, and the program is still telling me 10b needs to be blank. I even looked at the form, and the form is showing I'm getting the standard deduction.

You do not see this screen after completing the Deductions & Credits section of the program? -
