Question

Why won’t it let me file my out of state credit worksheet with zeros? I don’t know why I have to complete this form to begin with because it doesn’t apply to me.

Did you live and work/had income in another states?

If you are filing a resident state return for one state and paid taxes to another state where you worked or had a source of  income, this is asking how much tax you paid, so resident state can give you credit for taxes paid to another state.

For accurate calculation you should always prepare the non-resident state return first.

If that doesn't apply to you, delete the form.

    1. Login to your account.
    2. Select Pick up where you left off.
    3. From the left menu, select Tax Tools than Tools.
    4. Select Delete a Form

    For TurboTax desktop:

    1. Open or continue your return.
    2. Switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon.
    3. From the menu, select the form you want to remove.
    4. After the form is generated, select the Delete Form button.
